NDIS Capalaba – What is Individualised Living Options (ILO)?
NDIS Capalaba
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) provides participants with personalised plans that are tailored to their individual needs and goals. One such plan is the Individualised Living Options (ILO) package, which enables people to explore different home and living arrangements and design support packages that suit them.
ILO is different to SIL (Supported Independent Living) because it is a flexible, individualised funding model that allows people to choose the home and living arrangement that suits them best. This may include living with family, friends or other individuals, or sharing a house with housemates who have similar needs and interests. It can also involve staying in a community facility, or even living alone.
To get started with ILO, participants should first meet with their NDIA planner to discuss their goals and current situation. If they decide that ILO is right for them, the NDIA will help them work out how much funding they can access. Then they can work with an ILO coordinator or other trusted NDIS provider to help them create a support plan.
This plan outlines the specific supports that the participant will need to achieve their goals, as well as how those supports will be delivered. This includes a description of the type of support, when it will be provided and how often. It will also include a budget that shows how much each support is expected to cost.
Once the ILO plan is complete, the NDIS will approve the budget and ILO NDIS Capalaba allocate the funds to the service providers who are responsible for delivering the supports. The provider will then begin arranging and setting up the appropriate home and living supports. This can include things like household chores, transport and assistance with activities of daily living.
NDIS participants can use ILO funding to try out new living arrangements, such as living in a shared house with other people with disabilities, or in their own homes with the help of a friend or family member. They can also use their ILO funds to purchase supplementary supports for the home they are living in, such as assistive technology or home modifications.
There are 3 bands of ILO that NDIS participants can use, with each band capped at a certain amount. The most popular option is Band 2, which is capped at $105,000. Those with higher levels of support can opt for the higher bands, which are capped at $150,000 and $230,000.
